art2love: Regency (costume me)
I love doing these little historical costume paintings. This is one of the costumes my daughter wore at DragonCon last weekend. She sent me a photo and I thought she was perfectly dressed for a walk in a forest, created in my new technique of painting backgrounds.

Took time to do another little watercolor costume painting today in my home-made book. I have been meaning to do this one for a long time, so it made me happy to accomplish it.

This one is based on jenthompson and her fun 1790s outfit from a Mad Hatter's Tea.

I wish I had more time for painting costumers in their period wardrobes that they so expertly design and sew. I love doing these little paintings in my hand-made book. I had a special request for the one below and I hope you like it. Some of you may recognize amaz0n_princess in all her princessness.

So this is my next watercolor in my little costume book. I am reading a book my daughter lent me called Midnight in Austenland by Shannon Hale. I can see this couple walking in the gardens of Pembrook Park, just like in the book. Have you read it?

Does this couple look familiar to you?

I did a commission for a miniature watercolor of a person in a period civil war costume. Never did anything that small in watercolor, but I loved the way it turned out.

This is the person I painted and the miniature was given to her as a gift.

This is the miniature and also how it framed.

I hope she was pleased with her gift!
